Estimating the spectral response function of the CASI-2
The spectral response function (SRF) of an instrument describes its relative sensitivity to energy of different wavelengths and is normally determined in the laboratory using a tunable laser or a scanning monochromator.

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Detection of dynamic primary user with cooperative spectrum sensing
In this paper we demonstrate that existing cooperative spectrum sensing formulated for static primary users cannot accurately detect dynamic primary users regardless of the information fusion method.

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

A Fast Power Spectrum Sensing Solution for Generalized Coprime Sampling
With the growing scarcity of spectrum resources, wideband spectrum sensing is necessary to process a large volume of data at a high sampling rate. For some applications, only second-order statistics are required for spectrum estimation.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.
