SHARED SPECTRUM DISPLAY ENHANCEMENT
1965Abstract : An illumination system is described which utilizes for display, portions of the visible spectrum which have been excluded from the ambient light. The resulting tinted illumination is matched in brightness to a standard white light by experimental subjects, and stimulus threshold measurements made as a function of display intensity for ...

Enabling Spectrum Sharing via Spectrum Consumption Models
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2015Spectrum consumption models attempt to capture spectral, spatial, and temporal consumption of spectrum of any specific RF transmitter, receiver, system, or collection of systems. The information contained in the models enables better spectrum management practices and allows for the identification of spectrum reuse opportunities. The characteristics and

Spectrum-Shared Resource Allocation
2016Mobile broadband networks observe a dramatic increase in data traffic volumes over the next two decades [4]. To meet this demand, large spans of spectrum is an important issue for any RAN system. On the flip side, this demand for more bandwidth exceeds the available commercial spectrum to a large extent and has motivated spectrum-governing agencies ...

Database-Assisted Spectrum Sharing
2016In this chapter, we will provide a brief introduction to the database-assisted dynamic spectrum sharing technology, including the network architecture, the regulatory and standardization status, and the associated technical and economic issues and challenges. We will review the current regulations of the UK and the US and illustrate how various network

Spectrum Crunch vs. Spectrum Sharing: Exploring the 'Authorised Shared Access' Model
2013This paper provides an overview of a recently proposed spectrum sharing model – ‘Authorized Shared Access’ or ‘Licensed Shared Access’ (ASA/LSA) – and compares it to other sharing models in order to outline its distinctive features and fields of application.

Spectrum Sharing Through Beacons
2005 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006Recently there has been considerable interest in the sharing of spectrum between different services in order to maximize its utilization. This paper presents a novel concept for the sharing of spectrum based on arranging for the receivers to transmit beacons that establish a soft exclusion zone for other transmitters to avoid interference.

In 1999, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) allocated the 5.9 GHz band (75 MHz of the spectrum) for DSRC-based Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communications required for intelligent transportation applications [1, 2].
