This paper demonstrates that speculative activities can be contagious and spill over across markets. Specifically, we test the hypothesis that during China's warrants bubble period, speculative activities in the warrants market grabbed investors' attention and caused them to trade more speculatively in the underlying stocks.

This biologist finds herself like a ballet dancer imitating a pigeon-toed hunchback: All of the intellectual training to keep my toes turned out emotionally backfires with a request to speculate freely.

In this contribution we propose a strategy which focuses on the game as well as on the opponent. Preference is given to the thoughts of the opponent, so that the strategy might be speculative. We describe a generalization of OM search, called (D, d)-OM search, where D stands for the depth of search by the player and d for the opponent's depth of search.

Conventional parallelizations of the alpha-beta (α-β) algorithm have met with limited success. With current algorithms, beyond 10 processors additional ones are of little benefit.
