A speech analysis method which includes the steps of detecting a maximum-level position in that portion of an input speech signal which exists in a period equal to the pitch period of the input speech signal from a predetermined one of periodically-generated timing pulses, tracing the speech signal from the maximum-level position in a time reversing ...

A speech analysis system in which segments of digitized speech are transformed into amplitude spectrums. For the voiced/unvoiced decision use is made of the peak value or spectral intensity in each amplitude spectrum. Basically a voiced decision is made when the spectral intensity increases monotonically over several segments by more than a given ...

Speech Disorders Recognition using Speech Analysis
2012Speech disorders are human disabilities widely present in young population but also adults may suffer from such disorders after some physical problems. In this context, the detection and further the correction of such disabilities may be handled by Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology.

Aspects of esophageal speech are investigated in this paper. Esophageal speech is produced by laryngectomized people who utter by expelling air constricted under the entrance of the esophagus, forcing the cricopharyngeal muscle to oscillate equivalently to vocal cords in normal speakers. Nine male esophageal speakers were used for the analysis.

A robust speech analysis in speech recognition
WCC 2000 - ICSP 2000. 2000 5th International Conference on Signal Processing Proceedings. 16th World Computer Congress 2000, 2002This report presents an adaptive speech analysis method specially used for a speech recognition system. The designed speech recognition system consists of an adaptive speech analysis, a self-organized clustering/pseudo-labeling method and a DTW. All methods are redesigned in fully parallel and pipelined mechanism.

Phonetic Speech Analysis for Speech to Text Conversion
2008 IEEE Region 10 and the Third international Conference on Industrial and Information Systems, 2008This paper presents a description of the work done on phonetic speech analysis. The work aims in generating phonetic codes of the uttered speech in training-less, human independent manner. This work is guided by the working of ear in response to audio signals. The Devnagri script inspires the work presented. The Devnagari script classifies and arranges

Using neutral speech models for emotional speech analysis
Interspeech 2007, 2007Abstract Since emotional speech can be regarded as a variation onneutral (non-emotional) speech, it is expected that a robust neu-tral speech model can be useful in contrasting different emo-tions expressed in speech. This study explores this idea by cre-ating acoustic models trained with spectral features, using theemotionally-neutral TIMIT corpus ...
