ABSTRACT Introduction Exposure to excessive noise is a highly preventable occupational risk, with irreversible side effects that may negatively impact an individual's quality of life, such as noise‐induced hearing loss and tinnitus. Dental personnel may be at particular risk due to their exposure to high levels of noise from dental equipment.

Associations of Hearing Loss Defined by Updated World Health Organization Criteria With Socioeconomic Status and Health Check‐Up‐Related Factors: A Population‐Based Cross‐Sectional Study in Japan

Hearing loss (HL) was associated with lower socioeconomic status and several health check‐up–related factors, like lifestyle and examination data, especially among males. Among males, occupational noise exposure history, diabetes‐related factors, and excessive alcohol consumption showed stronger associations.

Effects of Meal Consumption on Isotonic Lingual Endurance in Healthy Adults: A Multi‐Institutional Study

Isotonic tongue endurance was measured pre‐ and post‐meal using the Iowa Oral Performance Instrument (IOPI) in healthy younger (18–35 years) and older (≥ 65 years) adults. Older adults demonstrated greater isotonic endurance and longer mealtimes, with no sex differences in endurance.
