Investigation of Speech Discrimination Test by Computer-Aided Speech Audiometer(CASA).

open access: yesAUDIOLOGY JAPAN, 1996

Integration of Serum Neurofilament Light Chain and Cortical Dysfunction Improves Diagnostic Accuracy in ALS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether integration of serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) and cortical dysfunction improves diagnostic accuracy in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) when applied alongside the Gold Coast criteria (GCC). Methods In this prospective study, 148 participants with suspected ALS were recruited (101 ALS and 47 with ALS ...

Raspberry, not a car: Context predictability and a phonological advantage in early and late learners’ processing of speech in noise

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2014
Second language learners perform worse than native speakers under adverse listening conditions, such as speech in noise. No data are available on heritage language speakers’ (early naturalistic interrupted learners’) ability to perceive speech in noise ...

Speech Discrimination and Monaural Filtered Speech Tests for Temporal Lobe Lesions

open access: yesAUDIOLOGY JAPAN, 1977
Central auditory functions of 7 cases of unilateral temporal lobe lesion were examined. The speech discrimination scores were nearly normal in the ipsilateral ears, but reduced in the contralateral ears in five out of six cases. The monaural filtered speech tests, which consisted of nonsense onesyllable words filtered through 1, 200 and 1, 700Hz low ...

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.
