Speech Enhancement In Multiple-Noise Conditions using Deep Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
In this paper we consider the problem of speech enhancement in real-world like conditions where multiple noises can simultaneously corrupt speech. Most of the current literature on speech enhancement focus primarily on presence of single noise in corrupted speech which is far from real-world environments.

Adversarial Privacy Protection on Speech Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Speech is easily leaked imperceptibly, such as being recorded by mobile phones in different situations. Private content in speech may be maliciously extracted through speech enhancement technology. Speech enhancement technology has developed rapidly along with deep neural networks (DNNs), but adversarial examples can cause DNNs to fail.

Co‐expression of HSV‐1 ICP34.5 enhances the expression of gene delivered by self‐amplifying RNA and mitigates its immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ICP34.5 is one of the most important antihost response proteins. The saRNA‐encoding HSV‐1 neurovirulence protein ICP34.5 clearly mediated the eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha subunit (eIF2α) dephosphorylation and significant suppression of innate immune responses in vitro, leading to enhanced expression of the saRNA‐encoded gene.

Phase-Aware Single-Channel Speech Enhancement with Modulation-Domain Kalman Filtering [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We present a single-channel phase-sensitive speech enhancement algorithm that is based on modulation-domain Kalman filtering and on tracking the speech phase using circular statistics. With Kalman filtering, using that speech and noise are additive in the complex STFT domain, the algorithm tracks the speech log-spectrum, the noise log-spectrum and the ...

Evaluation of the dose reduction effect of crystalline lens exposure in cone‐beam computed tomography with bismuth eye shield for image‐guided radiation therapy: An anthropomorphic phantom study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the dose‐exposure reduction effect of a crystalline lens with a bismuth eye shield using cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) for head image‐guided radiation therapy. The ocular surface dose of the head phantom (THRA‐1) is defined as a crystalline lens exposure dose and is measured using a radiophotoluminescence ...

Assessing HyperSight iterative CBCT for dose calculation in online adaptive radiotherapy for pelvis and breast patients compared to synthetic CT

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose/objectives Recent technological advancements have increased efficiency for clinical deliverability of online‐adaptive‐radiotherapy (oART). Previous cone‐beam‐computed‐tomography (CBCT) generations lacked the ability to provide reliable Hounsfield‐units (HU), thus requiring oART workflows to rely on synthetic‐CT (sCT) images derived ...

Speech Enhancement Modeling Towards Robust Speech Recognition System [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Form about four decades human beings have been dreaming of an intelligent machine which can master the natural speech. In its simplest form, this machine should consist of two subsystems, namely automatic speech recognition (ASR) and speech understanding (SU).
