Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Apraxia of speech due to the left postcentral gyrus lesion

open access: yesClinical Case Reports
Key Clinical Message Apraxia of speech (AOS) due to a postcentral infarction differs from conventional precentral AOS with respect to phonemic errors (phoneme substitution) which are more common than phonetic errors (phoneme distortion) and preserved ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Noggin Nodding: Head Movement Correlates With Increased Effort in Accelerating Speech Production Tasks

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Movements of the head and speech articulators have been observed in tandem during an alternating word pair production task driven by an accelerating rate metronome. Word pairs contrasted either onset or coda dissimilarity with same word controls. Results

Wavelets for intonation modeling in HMM speech synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The pitch contour in speech contains information about different linguistic units at several distinct temporal scales. At the finest level, the microprosodic cues are purely segmental in nature, whereas in the coarser time scales, lexical tones, word ...

Super-Wideband Spectral Envelope Modeling for Speech Coding

open access: yes, 2019
Significant improvements in the quality of speech coders have been achieved by widening the coded frequency range from narrowband to wideband. However, existing speech coders still employ a limited band source-filter model extended by parametric coding ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Speaker adaptation and the evaluation of speaker similarity in the EMIME speech-to-speech translation project [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper provides an overview of speaker adaptation research carried out in the EMIME speech-to-speech translation (S2ST) project. We focus on how speaker adaptation transforms can be learned from speech in one language and applied to the acoustic ...
