近代日本女性如何学习汉语,仍然有许多尚未解明的方面。本研究通过对20世纪初日本编纂的北京官话教材《燕語新编》(1906年)的分析,探讨了当时女性汉语教育中的社会语言学层面。分析结果表明,女性话者在对话中展现出不同的言语等级,能够区分 “外部” (礼貌)和 “内部” (非正式)交际模式。与《北京汉话谈论新编》等文本中的男性话者相比,女性话者在《燕語新编》中更频繁地使用礼貌语言。此外,研究还揭示了《燕語新编》与《妇女谈论新书》等女性文本中表现女性特质的不同策略。这些差异表明,语言的使用更多地受到社会角色与期望的影响,而非所谓的内在女性气质。
