The control of speed in elite female speed skaters
Journal of Biomechanics, 1985From ten participants in the World Championships Speed Skating for Ladies 1983 a number of selected mechanical parameters were measured and correlated with speed and external power. The parameters were derived by means of video and film analysis of strokes at the four distances: 500 m, 1500 m, 3000 m and 5000 m.

Adaptive Speed Control of Induction Motor Drive With Inaccurate Model
IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2018An adaptive controller for the speed control of induction motor (IM) drives with inaccurate models is designed in this paper. Specifically, we assume that every equation in the state-space model of the drive is subject to slowly varying error.

The burner is fed by a first pump (3) which supplies fuel from a fuel tank (14) and a second pump or blower (4) which provides the airflow. Both pumps are driven by separate electric motor (5,6) of which at least one is variable. The motor speed control is via an electronic control circuit (7,8) linked to the burner control system. The burner is fitted

Control laws for sliding mode speed control of variable speed drives
International Journal of Control, 1992This paper presents an investigation of various control laws to study the characteristics of sliding mode speed control (SLMSC), and to overcome some disadvantages of SLMSC such as steady state speed chattering and error. It is demonstrated that, by the appropriate choice of a suitable control law, a robust, fast and accurate SLMSC performance, with ...

Accurate and Smooth Speed Control for an Autonomous Vehicle
2018 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV), 2018This paper presents a preview servo-loop speed control algorithm to achieve smooth, accurate, and computationally inexpensive speed tracking for connected automated vehicles (CAVs). Differing from methods neglecting the future road slope and target speed

PID Controller for Idle Speed Control
2013 UKSim 15th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation, 2013The performance comparison of PID controllers for idle speed control internal combustion engine (ICE) is presented in this paper. There are three methods of PID tuning applied: heuristic tuning, self-tuning by pole placement, and also iterative learning algorithm (ILA).

Cascaded predictive speed control
IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014This work proposes a new control scheme for electrical drives system, named cascaded predictive speed control (PSC). The strategy seeks to maintain the simplicity of the classic predictive control while excluding linear or other controllers. The control strategy has a cascade architecture, similar to the techniques of classical control (FOC or DTC ...
