Self-adjusting scheme for high speed routers

2008 33rd IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN), 2008
Many schemes of high-performance IP address lookup have been proposed recently. But most of them do not process dynamically the packets and give no specific interest in the skewness of the traffic. Hence, the lack of dynamic packet routing algorithms has been the motivation for this research.

Industrial Structure, Concentration and the Speed of Price Adjustment

The Journal of Industrial Economics, 1988
It is argued that the relationship between market structure and the speed of price adjustment involves two distinct forces with opposing directions: "t he leadership effect" and the "industry profitability effect." The direction of the relationship will depend on the relative importance of these effects.

Automatically Adjusting the Speed of E-Learning Videos

Proceedings of the 33rd Annual ACM Conference Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2015
Videos are becoming a commonplace way for students to view instructional material. Although current technology allows customization of default playback speeds to cater to individual students' desired pace, we highlight a need for more dynamic or reactive control systems capable of varying playback in response to viewer needs or activities (e.g. slowing

Macroeconomic Conditions and Capital Structure Adjustment Speed

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2008
Abstract Using two dynamic partial adjustment capital structure models to estimate the impact of several macroeconomic factors on the speed of capital structure adjustment toward target leverage, we find evidence that firms adjust their leverage toward target faster in good macroeconomic states relative to bad states.

The Speed of Adjustment in Growth Models

1982
Until now, the focus of our analysis has been on the existence of the balanced growth path and its properties. However, it is of considerable interest to consider the question: How long will it take an economic system to reach a balanced growth path? For example, suppose that a given economy is already in long run equilibrium growth.

Fast switching adjustable speed drives: an overview

Power Engineering Journal, 1999
The world energy consumption is increasing and adjustable speed drives will account for a large portion of all motor drives. Insulated gate bipolar transistors and similar fast switching PWM drives will continue to be used. While these drives are reliable and offer excellent control response, there are some drawbacks.
