Automatic speed regulation

Electrical Engineering, 1931
Automatic regulators to be suitable for industrial use must be quick in response, sturdy in construction, require a minimum of maintenance, and be adaptable to a wide variety of applications. How one of the newer types of carbon-pile regulators meets these exacting requirements is outlined in some detail.

Speed regulation by digital methods

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part II: Applications and Industry, 1961
By application of digital techniques to a speed-regulating system, it is possible to regulate the controlled variable to accuracies not attainable by other methods. The development of a typical system is described The development of digital technology over the past 20 years has opened the way to vast new areas of industrial uses.

Regulator Characteristics: A Conparision of Two Speed Regulations

IEEE Transactions on Industry and General Applications, 1971
The importance of the transient characteristics of analog regulators used on paper machine drives is shown. The speed regulator was chosen as a model since it is the regulator that is most often used. Two different forms of speed regulators were used to demonstrate the differences between different forms of regulators with comments on these differences.

Speed regulation of an eccentric rotor with a flexible joint

Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications, 2004., 2005
This article explores the problem of speed regulation of an unbalanced rotor in gravitational field with a flexible shaft. This problem falls into the category of vibration control of flexible structures subject to nondecaying harmonic disturbances. The experimental device is an eccentric rotor driven by a dc servomotor through a flexible joint. As the

Tension and Speed Regulation of Axially Moving Materials

Volume 6: International Symposium on Motion and Vibration Control, 1999
Abstract In this paper, the tension and speed of an axially moving material system are regulated using control torques applied to rollers at each end of a controlled span. Given a distributed parameter model, Lyapunov-type arguments produce a model-based boundary control law that exponentially stabilizes the material tension and speed at

Speed regulation of induction motors with wound rotor

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2013
Abstract The regulation of speed is required in many applications of induction motors, including in electric locomotives and electric driving vehicles. In this paper the speed control problem for a wound rotor induction motor is considered. The speed is controlled by changing the external resistance in the rotor circuit.

Regulating speed in a neuromuscular human running model

2015 IEEE-RAS 15th International Conference on Humanoid Robots (Humanoids), 2015
Versatile models of human locomotion control can elicit new ideas for the control of legged robots and provide simulation test-beds for walking assistive robots. There exist neural control models that can generate human-like diverse and robust locomotion behaviors.

Idling speed regulator of automobile

Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronics and Optoelectronics, 2011
The functions of idling speed regulator are very important. It can stabilize engine's idling speed, which can reduce the oil consumption when automobile is moving with idling speed. This can prevent automobile engine miss. And idling speed could be regulated by controlling throttle valve by-pass style.

Speed Regulation of Kaplan Turbines

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1941
Abstract In this paper hydraulic-turbine speed-regulation data are presented and compared with calculated performance. Field tests made at the Bonneville and Guntersville power plants are cited. The effect of air admission during load rejection is discussed. Runaway-speed tests in the field are compared with model data.
