Proton Selective Nanoporous Atomically Thin Graphene Membranes for Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries
A scalable high‐performance proton‐exchange‐membrane architecture is demonstrated that integrates monolayer CVD graphene with Ar plasma‐engineered Angstrom‐scale proton‐selective pores, stacked to mitigate non‐selective defects, and interfaced with an ultrathin (≈300 nm) polybenzimidazole layer sandwiched between two Nafion 211 sheets.

A novel vanadium–titanium redox flow battery is demonstrated using V5+/V4+ and Ti3+/Ti4+ electrolytes, delivering stable cycling (>150 cycles), high coulombic efficiency (>95%), and low‐cost operation. Ionic‐liquid‐based catholytes and SPEEK membranes further enhance sustainability while maintaining an appreciable electrochemical performance.
