The phenazine pyocyanin is a terminal signalling factor in the quorum sensing network of Pseudomonas aeruginosa [PDF]
Certain members of the fluorescent pseudomonads produce and secrete phenazines. These heterocyclic, redox-active compounds are toxic to competing organisms, and the cause of these antibiotic effects has been the focus of intense research efforts.

Variability of Drought Frequency and Intensity in Iran using SPEI
In this study, the decade variability of frequency and severity of drought in Iran has been investigated. The one-month scale data from the standardized precipitation-evapotranspiration index (SPEI 01) in the period 1956 - 2015 have been used.

Abstract Meteorological drought, one of the most destructive natural hazards, is driven by both precipitation deficits and high evaporative demand. While precipitation has traditionally been considered the dominant driver, recent studies suggest an increasing influence of evaporative demand.

Impact‐Based Drought Detection via Interpretable Machine Learning and Causal Discovery
Abstract The intensification of drought events due to climate change presents unprecedented risks and widespread socioenvironmental impacts. Traditional drought indices, which rely on hydrometeorological anomalies, often fall short in capturing the full extent of these impacts, as they primarily focus on isolated precursors (e.g., precipitation deficit
