Abnormal cleavage patterns in equine in vitro‐produced embryos lead to higher early pregnancy loss

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Summary Background Despite significant advances, in vitro production (IVP) of equine embryos continues to lack standardised embryo classification criteria and is associated with increased rates of early pregnancy loss compared with in vivo‐derived blastocysts.

Endocrinology: Nuclear maturity and oocyte morphology after stimulation with highly purified follicle stimulating hormone compared to human menopausal gonadotrophin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Several studies have shown that high concentrations of luteinizing hormone (LH) in the follicular phase of stimulation can have a negative effect on oocyte quality, pregnancy rate and incidence of miscarriage.

Estimating Causal Effects of Third‐Stage Management on Postpartum Haemorrhage in a Midwifery Context: An Evidence Synthesis Approach for Constructing Directed Acyclic Graphs

open access: yesPaediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Estimating the causal effect of third‐stage management approaches on preventing postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) in the context of physiologic birth using observational data requires conditioning on specific variables, with selection relying on assumptions about their roles in the exposure‐outcome pathway that are rarely made explicit ...

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Hemodynamic parameters and reproductive outcome after intracytoplasmic sperm injection and fresh embryo transfer in patients undergoing oocyte retrieval with general anesthesia using fentanyl, remifentanil or alfentanil – A randomized clinical trial

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2019
Objective: Anesthesia for assisted reproductive technology is very important to provide less stressful and painful environment for patients, with minimal side effects on oocytes. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate hemodynamic parameters, recovery

Long‐term child outcomes after prenatal aspirin exposure: A 4‐year follow‐up of a randomized controlled trial (the APRIL study)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 173, Issue 1, Page 302-311, April 2026.
Abstract Objective To identify the long‐term child outcomes after prenatal aspirin exposure. Methods This study is a follow‐up of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating low‐dose aspirin in the prevention of recurrent spontaneous preterm labor (the APRIL study) comparing aspirin 80 mg daily (n = 194) to placebo (n = 193) in singletons.

IGF‐1 Deficiency Serves as an Integrated Biomarker Pathogenic Driver and Predictor in Poor Ovarian Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 18, 27 March 2026.
IGF‐1 deficiency underlies poor ovarian response (POR), as reduced levels in follicular fluid and granulosa cells impair antral follicle formation and compromise reproductive outcomes. Including IGF‐1 as a biomarker significantly enhances the accuracy of models predicting both PORrisk and pregnancy success.
