The Iseult Coil, a Hybrid RF Coil for the First Human Brain Images at 11.7 T: Receive Performance Comparison With a Twin Coil at 7 T. [PDF]

Our 8‐Tx/32‐Rx coil is based on two rows of transceiver microstrips intertwined with receive‐only loops. Comparison of the intrinsic SNR at 7 and 11.7 T leads to a 2.2 ratio for the human brain, and 2.75 for a 16‐cm agar sphere, translating into α = 1.5 and 1.95 in the B0α$$ {B}_0^{\alpha } $$‐SNR model, respectively.
