Recent Eupera (Pelecypoda; Sphaeriidae) in the United States

American Midland Naturalist, 1965
The taxonomic history of the sphaeriid clam genus Eupera is reviewed, and the morphological relationships of Eupera to other genera are examined. The presence of two separate siphons, byssal threads, and the unusual marsupial development of the embryos require the establishment of a new subfamily, Euperinae.

Biological Notes on Eupera cubensis (Bivalvia: Sphaeriidae) from Kansas

Journal of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada, 1976
The occurrence of Eupera cubensis (Prime) in Kansas represents a north central range extension. The species appears to be more common in root systems of the water willow, Justicia americana, than in riffle areas or backwater areas. Scanning electron photographs are given to illustrate important shell characteristics.

The distribution and conservation of threatened Sphaeriidae on British grazing marshland

Biodiversity and Conservation, 2005
Freshwater sphaeriid bivalves are poorly known ecologically, particularly uncommon species such as Pisidium pseudosphaerium (UK RDB (Red Data Book) staus = ‘rare’). In the UK, this species occupies grazing marsh where conservation opportunities might be shared with other threatened molluscs. We surveyed sphaeriids including P.

Sphaeriida of several reservoirs of the Vitebsk region

Society and Science: Future Development
Assessed the species diversity of the Sphaeriidae family in several reservoirs of the Vitebsk region. In 2023, bivalve mollusks were collected from lakes Sosno, Polonskoye, Bernskoye, and three ponds. The collection was carried out using a bottom scraper to study the benthos. Species were identified in the laboratory of the Palace of Children and Youth
