Diffeomorphisms of a product of spheres and embedded spheres

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2002
AbstractLet M be the product of n copies of the p-dimensional sphere Sp with p⩾1 and n⩾2. In this paper we completely determine those automorphisms of Hp(M;Z)≅Zn which can be realized by a diffeomorphism of M. As an application, we completely classify smoothly embedded p-dimensional spheres in M up to diffeomorphisms of M.

The cytoskeletal control of B cell receptor and integrin signaling in normal B cells and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

Public Sphere as Democratic Sphere

open access: yesIssues in Social Science, 2018
Political public space is more conflicted and stressed. Process of black-balling other actors is dominant here. Other civilian public spaces mean mutual learning and opinion improvement. These two spaces try to affect each other. Civilian public spaces try to affect political public space with political discourses.

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

A healthy and spiritual body —consumption practices and lifestyles

open access: yesUniversitas Humanística, 2011
This paper shows how individuals take on their lifestyles in practices revolving around a nature-based and a healthy body conception in the social spheres where they perform at ease and with relative coherence.

Compact packings of space with three sizes of spheres [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
A sphere packing of the three-dimensional Euclidean space is compact if it has only tetrahedral holes, that is, any local maximum of the distance to the spheres is at equal distance to exactly four spheres. This papers describes all the compact packings with spheres of three different sizes.

Neighborly spheres and transversal numbers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We survey several old and new problems related to the number of simplicial spheres, the number of neighborly simplicial spheres, the number of centrally symmetric simplicial spheres that are cs-neighborly, and the transversal numbers of hypergraphs that arise from simplicial spheres.

Spot‐14 and its paralog Spot‐14R regulate expression of metabolic and thermogenic pathway genes in murine brown and beige adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Spot‐14 and Spot‐14R play distinct roles in regulating metabolism in brown and beige adipocytes. While both influence lipid and glucose pathways, Spot‐14 uniquely controls thermogenic gene expression. This dual regulation balances energy storage and heat production, highlighting potential therapeutic targets for obesity and metabolic disorders. Spot 14
