In Situ Interfacial Assembly of Dynamic Semi‐Interpenetrating Biopolymer Networks for Robust and Mechanically Adaptive Droplet Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dynamic interfacial semi‐interpenetrating polymer network is constructed by sequential assembly of β‐sheet‐rich SF and CS‐RL. The SF framework provides mechanical strength, while dynamically associated CS‐RL enables local rearrangement, allowing droplets to rapidly reconfigure without loss of interfacial integrity.

Using Truncated Data Sets in Spherical-Scanning Antenna Measurements

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2012
We discuss the mitigation of truncation errors in spherical-scanning measurements by use of a constrained least-squares estimation method. The main emphasis is the spherical harmonic representation of probe transmitting and receiving functions; however ...

Ultra‐Thin Tow‐Based Discontinuous Composites—Material Overview and Aspirations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tow‐based discontinuous composites made from ultra‐thin tapes offer outstanding in‐plane mechanical properties. This material, inspired by Nacre, has high volume fraction of tapes exceeding 90 % and allows for quasi‐isotropic material plates less than 100 micrometer in thickness.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Active compensation of magnetic field distortions based on vector spherical harmonics field description

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
An analytic solution to the magnetostatic inverse problem in the framework of vector spherical harmonic basis functions is presented. This formalism is used for the design of a spherical magnetic field compensation system and its performance is compared ...

The topographic bias in gravimetric geoid determination revisited

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2019
The topographic potential bias at geoid level is the error of the analytically continued geopotential from or above the Earth’s surface to the geoid.
