Irreducibility of standard representations for Iwahori-spherical representations
Mathematische Annalen, 1998In the paper is given a generalization to the p-adic case of an important result of D. Vogan from the real case.

Spherical representations of the jacobi group
Abhandlungen aus dem Mathematischen Seminar der Universität Hamburg, 1998Let \(G^J\) be the Jacobi group over a \(p\)-adic field. The author continues the earlier work (with \textit{R. Berndt}) [Elements of the representation theory of the Jacobi group. Progress in Mathematics 163, Birkhäuser, Basel (1998; Zbl 0931.11013)] and determines spherical vectors for admissible \(G^J\)-representations by explicit calculations in ...

Multiscale Representation and Analysis of Spherical Data by Spherical Wavelets
SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 1999Summary: Classic wavelet methods were developed in the Euclidean spaces for multiscale representation and analysis of regularly sampled signals (time series) and images. This paper introduces a method of representing scattered spherical data by multiscale spherical wavelets. The method extends the recent pioneering work of \textit{F. J. Narcowich} and \

Spherical Representations: From EGI to SAI.
1995One of the fundamental problems in representing a curved surface is how to define an intrinsic, i.e., viewer independent, coordinate system over the surface. More precisely, in order to establish point matching between model and observed feature distributions over curved surfaces, we need to set up a coordinate system that maps a point on a curved ...

Spherical Wavelets and Their Applications to Image Representation
Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 1993Abstract The present paper concerns the applications of spherical wavelets to image representation by means of spherical wavelet transforms. The following special cases of interest in image representation, and in biological and computer vision, are discussed: 2- and 3-D rigid motion, similarities, and 2-D projective group obtained from 3-D camera ...

Spherical tensor representation
Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, 1980The equivalence of "irreducibility" is discussed as characterizing symmetric and traceless tensors on the one hand and group-theoretica l properties on the other. The relation between the two points of view is shown explicitly by expressing the tensorial spherical harmonics in terms of scalar spherical harmonics and vice versa.

Representations of isocontours on a spherical head
Proceedings of the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 1992A visualization technique was developed to generate and display magnetic field isocontours on a wireframe spherical head model. The data are obtained by simulated measurements of the magnetic field generated by a set of neuronal sources. This presentation is particulary useful for displaying widespread activity.

The Spherical Representation of Vocational Interests
Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1996Abstract We report the development, examination, and replication of a spherical structure of vocational interests. A sample of 266 undergraduate students were asked to give their preferences to a sample of 229 occupational titles. The principal components analysis conducted on the item level responses supported the presence of the prestige component ...
