Numerical simulation of impact and entrainment behaviors of debris flow by using SPH–DEM–FEM coupling method

open access: yesOpen Geosciences, 2022
Increasing rain levels can easily destabilize and destroy particulate matter in mountainous areas, which can cause natural disasters, such as debris flow and landslides.

Spherical supervarieties [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Fourier, 2022
We give a definition of the notion of spherical varieties in the world of complex supervarieties with actions of algebraic supergroups. A characterization of affine spherical supervarieties is given which generalizes a characterization in the classical case. We also explain some general properties of the monoid of highest weights.

Spherical preferences

open access: yesJournal of Economic Theory, 2020
We introduce and study the property of orthogonal independence, a restricted additivity axiom applying when alternatives are orthogonal. The axiom requires that the preference for one marginal change over another should be maintained after each marginal change has been shifted in a direction that is orthogonal to both.

IDENTIFIKASI BENTUK BUAH ALPUKAT (Persea americana Mill.) DENGAN ANALISIS CITRA DIGITAL

open access: yesJurnal Teknologi Pertanian, 2022

Determination of important biotechnical characteristics of some safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) cultivars

open access: yesJournal of New Results in Science, 2023
The study aimed to determine the biotechnical characteristics (physical properties, color characteristics, angle of repose, and coefficient of friction) of the seeds of safflower cultivars.

The assumption of sphericity in repeated-measures designs: What it means and what to do when it is violated [PDF]

open access: yesTutorials in Quantitative Methods for Psychology, 2016
Violating the assumption of sphericity in repeated-measures analysis of variance leads to an inflated Type I error rate. The first portion of this article provides a thorough yet non-technical description of the sphericity assumption and explains why ...

Transverse sphericity of primary charged particles in minimum bias proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=0.9$, 2.76 and 7 TeV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Measurements of the sphericity of primary charged particles in minimum bias proton--proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=0.9$, 2.76 and 7 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC are presented. The observable is linearized to be collinear safe and is measured in

Spherical Rectangles [PDF]

open access: yesArnold Mathematical Journal, 2016
We study spherical quadrilaterals whose angles are odd multiples of pi/2, and the equivalent accessory parameter problem for the Heun equation. We obtain a classification of these quadrilaterals up to isometry. For given angles, there are finitely many one-dimensional continuous families which we enumerate.

Spherical Light Integration over Spherical Caps via Spherical Harmonics [PDF]

open access: yesSIGGRAPH Asia 2020 Technical Communications, 2020
Spherical area light sources are widely used in synthetic rendering. However, traditional Monte Carlo methods can require an excessive number of samples for sufficient accuracy. We propose a Spherical Harmonics (SH) based method to provide a trade-off between performance and accuracy. Our key idea is an analytical integration of SH over spherical caps.
