The severity of second‐degree perineal tears and dyspareunia during one year postpartum: A prospective cohort study

Second‐degree tears are subcategorized according to the percentage of perineal damage (2A, 2B or 2C). Dyspareunia was assessed through an electronic questionnaire at pregnancy, three months, and twelve months postpartum. Resumption of intercourse was collected at twelve months postpartum.

Influence of instrument choice on fear of childbirth after assisted vaginal delivery: A secondary analysis of the Bergen birth study

Assisted vaginal delivery was not associated with a higher risk of secondary fear of childbirth compared with spontaneous vaginal delivery. Both forceps and vacuum seem to be equally accepted by the parturient. Women with a secondary fear of childbirth are more likely to prefer Cesarean delivery in a potential subsequent pregnancy.
