Physiological aspects of urination in children of the early age

open access: yesЛечащий Врач, 2021
The article covers the issues of urination physiology in children of the early age, changes in urination mechanism as the child grows. Clinical signs of mature (completely controlled) urination are presented.

The three muscle layers in the pyloric sphincter and their possible function during antropyloroduodenal motility

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
This study was conducted to determine the muscular arrangement of the human pyloric sphincter using a comprehensive approach that involved microdissection, histology, and microcomputed tomography (micro‐CT).

Gracilis Flap Restoring Quality of Life in a Patient with Non Functional Anal Sphincter [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
An excellent technique for reconstructing the perineum following extensive perineal resection for restoration of a traumatised anal sphincter is the Gracilis myocutaneous flap. Direct anal trauma or pelvic injuries can separate the anal sphincters.

Clinical and Functional Anatomy of the Urethral Sphincter [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Neurourology Journal, 2012
Continence and micturition involve urethral closure. Especially, insufficient strength of the pelvic floor muscles including the urethral sphincter muscles causes urinary incontinence (UI).

Surgical Reconstruction of the Urinary Sphincter after Traumatic Longitudinal Disruption

open access: yesCase Reports in Urology, 2014
The question is whether the urethral sphincter may be reconstructed after longitudinal injury similar to anal sphincter injuries. Analogue to obstetric, anal sphincter repair, an approximation repair of the sphincter may be feasible. An overlap repair is

Clinically Relevant Outcome Measures in Women With Adrenoleukodystrophy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adrenoleukodystrophy is a rare inherited peroxisomal disease caused by pathogenic variants in the ABCD1 gene located on the X chromosome. Although the most severe central nervous system and adrenal complications typically affect only men with adrenoleukodystrophy, the majority of women develop myeloneuropathy symptoms in adulthood.

Soft Robotic Excretory Care Simulator for Nursing Education: Functional and Perceptual Biomimetics Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

Toward Wireless Implantable Robotic Systems Driven by Magnetic Field for Personalized Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Robotic materials are playing an increasingly vital role in enabling sensing and actuation at small scales. This perspective highlights recent advances in magnetic materials and magnetically actuated devices for wireless sensing, actuation, and energy harvesting toward implantable robotic systems for closed‐loop therapy.

MR‐DELTAnet: A Longitudinal MRI‐Transformer Model Predicting Pathological Complete Response and Revealing Immune Microenvironment via scRNA‐seq in Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The MR‐DELTAnet model utilizes longitudinal MRI to predict treatment response after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in locally rectal cancer patients, accurately identifying patients likely to achieve pathological complete response for personalized management.

Comparison of Pre‐ and Postoperative Gut Microbiota Diversity in Patients With Rectal Cancer Undergoing Stoma Creation and Closure

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
We investigated the impact of temporary stoma creation and closure on gut microbiota diversity in rectal cancer patients. 16S rRNA sequencing revealed that microbial diversity significantly decreased postoperatively in the stoma group but remained stable in non‐stoma patients.
