Medical treatment for sphincter of oddi dysfunction: can it replace endoscopic sphincterotomy?

open access: yesWorld Journal of Gastroenterology, 2012
AIM To report the results of a medical management of sphincter of oddi dysfunction (SOD) after an intermediate follow-up period. METHODS A total of 59 patients with SOD (2 men and 57 women, mean age 51 years old) were included in this prospective study.

Surgical ampullectomy: an underestimated operation in the era of endoscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
IntroductionBenign neoplastic, inflammatory or functional pathologies of the ampulla of Vater are mainly treated by primary endoscopic interventions. Consequently, transduodenal surgical ampullectomy (TSA) has been abandoned in many centres, although it ...

The evolution of the parametric models of drawings (modules) in the enterprises reconstruction CAD system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
Progressing methods of drawings creating automation is discussed on the basis of so-called modules containing parametric representation of a part of the drawing and the geometrical elements. The stages of evolution of modular technology of automation of engineering are describing alternatives of applying of moduluss for simple association of elements ...

Some properties of multivariate measures of concordance [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
We explore the consequences of a set of axioms which extend Scarsini's axioms for bivariate measures of concordance to the multivariate case and exhibit the following results: (1) A method of extending measures of concordance from the bivariate case to arbitrarily high dimensions.

Fixed points of automorphisms of real algebraic curves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
We bound the number of fixed points of an automorphism of a real curve in terms of the genus and the number of connected components of the real part of the curve. Using this bound, we derive some consequences concerning the maximum order of an automorphism and the maximum order of an abelian group of automorphisms of a real curve.
