Northernmost occurrence of Sphoeroides pachygaster (Tetraodontidae) in the Adriatic Sea
Bulletin of marine science, 2002A juvenile specimen of pufferfish Sphoeroides pachygaster (Tetraodontidae) in the Adriatic Sea was captured off Cape Kamenjak (peninsula Istra, northern Adriatic) and represents the northernmost report in the Adriatic Sea and whole Mediterranean area.

This study reports on some biological parameters of the blunthead pufferfish Sphoeroides pachygaster (Müller & Troschel, 1848) caught in the eastern Adriatic Sea. In total, four specimens were collected in December 2018 (Hvar Island), February 2023 (Žirje Island), November 2023 (Tribunj area), and April 2025 (Vis Island).
