Summary 1 The distribution and abundance of animals are influenced by factors at both local and wider landscape scales. Natural enemies of pests in arable fields often immigrate from the surrounding landscape, and are also influenced by local ...

Brain‐Inspired Polymer Dendrite Networks for Morphology‐Dependent Computing Hardware
Although process variability is often perceived as a drawback in electronics, this work harnesses the stochastic nature of electropolymerization as a powerful ally for computation. The resulting conductive polymer dendrites exhibit unique structure‐property relationships and support in memory computing, paving the way for the development of a new class

Wearable Bioelectronics for Home‐Based Monitoring and Treatment of Muscle Atrophy
As an inevitable disease, muscle atrophy has received more attention. Because the factors that induce this disease are diverse, achieving a complete cure is still impossible. Wearable bioelectronics provides a more comfortable, low‐cost, and efficient way of home care for the monitoring and treatment of muscle atrophy. Therefore, this review summarizes

Here, a decision‐making mechanism underlying mechanical adaptation is demonstrated. This study demonstrates that cellular adaptation to mechanical stress can be induced by applying low‐amplitude stretch to cells. When the stretch reaches a critical amplitude threshold, it triggers Ca2⁺‐dependent positive feedback, which induces cholesterol efflux and ...

Comparison of Spider Populations of Ground Stratum in Arkansas Pasture and Adjacent Cultivated Field [PDF]
Of 64 species of spiders taken from the ground stratum of an Arkansas pasture and adjoining cotton field, only 26 were common to both. Twenty-two were collected only in the cotton field; 16, only in the pasture.

The genus Theridionconstruct beautiful silken nests for the protection of their eggs. I have collected what I take to be the nests of three species in Canada. They are generally found under the bank of decayed forest trees. Another which I found on an old fence at Quebec, although not constructed of silk, its form, in my opinion, is sufficient to class
