Spatial spillover analysis of a cluster-randomized trial against dengue vectors in Trujillo, Venezuela.

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2020
BackgroundThe ability of cluster-randomized trials to capture mass or indirect effects is one reason for their increasing use to test interventions against vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue.

A High‐Throughput Live Imaging Platform to Investigate Circuit‐Dependent Regulation of Circadian Rhythms in Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biological rhythms coordinate physiology, from genes to behavior. Study of circadian rhythms in brain tissue is constrained by limited throughput and spatial and temporal information quality. A new platform for high‐throughput, long‐term multiplexed fluorescent live imaging of circadian rhythms in brain slices is introduced.

Eco‐Geography Reverses Dominant AMR Reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae: Integron‐Rich Mobilomes and Cross‐Niche Connectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dominant antimicrobial resistance reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae vary across eco‐geographic settings rather than following a universal pattern. Integrated One Health and global genomic analyses show that lineage structure, integron load, and cross‐niche connectivity shape whether AMR burden accumulates primarily in human or nonhuman compartments ...

Estimation of Economic Spillover Effects under the Hierarchical Structure of Urban Agglomeration Based on Time-Series Night-Time Lights: A Case Study of the Pearl River Delta, China

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Urban agglomerations are becoming increasingly important in driving economic development in China. Accurate representation of the economic development status and spillover effects of cities within an urban agglomeration is the foundation of and an ...

A Symmetric Cogeneration Fuel Cell for Coupled Production of Hydrogen, Ammonia and Formate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A symmetric cogeneration fuel cell integrating value‐added chemical synthesis with electricity generation by coupling formaldehyde oxidation with the nitrate reduction was developed. This work highlights the broader potential of symmetric cogeneration fuel cells as a general platform for rational reaction pairing, offering a practical pathway to lower ...

Heat Shock Protein 90: From Molecular Chaperone Function to Therapeutic Targeting in Malignancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this review, an integrated conceptual framework linking HSP90's molecular chaperone functions to its pathological roles in cancer is proposed. HSP90 serves as a central node that integrates oncogenic signaling, buffers proteotoxic stress, maintains cancer stem cell plasticity, and shapes tumor‐immune interactions, all of which converge to drive ...

The Spillover Effects of Gender Quotas on Dishonesty [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2017
We experimentally test for spillover effects of gender quotas on subsequent unrelated, unethical behavior. We find that introducing quotas has no systematic effect on unethical behavior for both genders. High performing, competitive females are more likely to display unethical behavior than their male counterparts.

Construction of Sabatier Volcanoes for CO2 Hydrogenation to C1‐2 Oxygenates Using Data‐Efficient Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new data‐efficient framework combining DFT calculations, a neural network model, and automated graph analysis of catalytic reaction networks is proposed and applied to CO2 hydrogenation on transition metal nanoparticles. The analysis shows how efficient C2 oxygenate production requires a balance between CHx formation, C–C coupling, protonation, and ...
