Rashba spin orbit interaction in a quantum wire superlattice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work we study the effects of a longitudinal periodic potential on a parabolic quantum wire defined in a two-dimensional electron gas with Rashba spin-orbit interaction.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Room Temperature Reversible Spin Hall Effect

open access: yes, 2006
Reversible spin Hall effect comprising the "direct" and "inverse" spin Hall effects was successfully detected at room temperature. This experimental demonstration proves the fundamental relations called Onsager reciprocal relations between spin and ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Reversible metal-insulator transition in SrIrO3 ultrathin layers by field effect control of inversion symmetry breaking

open access: yesCommunications Materials, 2023
SrIrO3 is a correlated semimetal with narrow t2g d-bands of strong mixed orbital character resulting from the interplay of the spin-orbit interaction due to heavy iridium atoms and the band folding induced by the lattice structure.

Calculations of the spin–orbit coupling constants and slater integrals for the 7snp (n = 7, 8, 9), 7snd (n = 6, 7, 8, 9) and 7snf (n = 5, 6, 7, 8) states in radium atom via an alternative way

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
We present an alternative method suitable for the calculation of the spin–orbit coupling constants ζ and Slater integrals F(0) and G(k) in any atoms and ions which contain two valence electrons outside a closed p or d shells.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Variation of spin–orbit coupling and related properties in skyrmionic system Mn FexGe

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
We report a systematic study of the magnetic and magnetotransport properties in skyrmionic compounds Mn ${}_{1-x}$ Fe _x Ge. Helical-spin or skyrmion orders are formed in all the compositions, which allows us to study electron band-filling dependence of ...

Design and control of spin gates in two quantum dots arrays

open access: yes, 2005
We study the spin-spin interaction between quantum dots coupled through a two dimensional electron gas with spin-orbit interaction. We show that the interplay between transverse electron focusing and spin-orbit coupling allows to dynamically change the ...
