Concentration gradients can serve as a universal platform for breaking spatial inversion symmetry. We demonstrate this concept by observing nonreciprocal electrical transport—a sensitive probe of inversion‐symmetry breaking—in the iron‐based superconductor Sm1111 with an engineered hydrogen gradient.

Two‐Dimensional Triferroics: From Fundamental Couplings to Multifunctional Applications
This graphic summarizes the three main types of currently reported 2D triferroic couplings. From the structural perspective, existing systems can be broadly classified into two categories, which exhibit distinct symmetry features and coupling behaviors. Beyond the lattice difference, a third type involves the interplay among ferroelectricity, magnetism,

Enhanced lifetimes of spin chains coupled to chiral edge states
We consider spin relaxation of finite-size spin chains exchanged coupled with a one-dimensional (1D) electron gas at the edge of a quantum spin Hall (QSH) insulator. Spin lifetimes can be enhanced due to two independent mechanisms. First, the suppression

Spin-polarized tunneling study of spin-momentum locking in topological insulators
We demonstrate that the charge-spin conversion efficiency of topological insulators (TI) can be experimentally determined by injecting spin-polarized tunneling electrons into a TI. Through a comparative study between bismuth selenide and bismuth antimony telluride, we verified the topological-surface-state origin of the observed giant spin signals.

ABSTRACT Oropharyngeal food processing exhibits a remarkable diversity among vertebrates, reflecting the evolution of specialised ‘processing centres’ associated with the mandibular, hyoid, and branchial arches. Although studies have detailed various food‐processing strategies and mechanisms across vertebrates, a coherent and comprehensive terminology ...
