Pressure driven magnetic order in Sr $$_{1-x}$$ 1 - x Ca $$_x$$ x Co $$_2$$ 2 P $$_2$$ 2

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
The magnetic phase diagram of Sr $$_{1-x}$$ 1 - x Ca $$_x$$ x Co $$_2$$ 2 P $$_2$$ 2 as a function of hydrostatic pressure and temperature is investigated by means of high pressure muon spin rotation, relaxation and resonance ( $$\mu ^+$$ μ + SR).

Superconductivity and Spin Fluctuations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The organizers of the Memorial Session for Herman Rietschel asked that I review some of the history of the interplay of superconductivity and spin fluctuations.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Strongly frustrated triangular spin lattice emerging from triplet dimer formation in honeycomb Li2IrO3

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Honeycomb iridates are candidates for the realization of a Kitaev spin liquid, displaying properties such as the protection of quantum information. Here, the authors investigate the phase diagram of honeycomb Li2IrO3, using quantum chemistry methods to ...

Fluctuation corrections on thermodynamic functions: Finite size effect

open access: yes, 2013
The explicit thermodynamic functions, in particular, the specific heat of a spin system interacting with a spin bath which exerts finite dissipation on the system are determined.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

The NMR of High Temperature Superconductors without Anti-Ferromagnetic Spin Fluctuations

open access: yes, 1999
A microscopic theory for the NMR anomalies of the planar Cu and O sites in superconducting La_1.85Sr_0.15CuO_4 is presented that quantitatively explains the observations without the need to invoke anit-ferromagnetic spin fluctuations on the planar Cu ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
