Electron spin drift in long-distance plasma wakefield acceleration

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Plasma based wakefield acceleration of polarized electron beams has recently attracted considerable research interest. Previous works have found the forced spin oscillation of electrons due to two-dimensional betatron oscillation in particle trajectory ...

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Tunable and inhomogeneous current-induced THz-oscillation dynamics in the ferrimagnetic spin-chain

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Ferrimagnets perform versatile properties, attributed to their antiferromagnetic sublattice coupling and finite net magnetization. Despite extensive research, the inhomogeneous dynamics in ferrimagnets, including domain walls and magnons, remain not ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Spin resonance under topological driving fields

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
We study the dynamics of a localized spin-1/2 driven by a time-periodic magnetic field that undergoes a topological transition. Despite the strongly non-adiabatic effects dominating the spin dynamics, we find that the field’s topology appears clearly ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Spin dynamics and relaxation in the classical-spin Kondo-impurity model beyond the Landau–Lifschitz–Gilbert equation

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
The real-time dynamics of a classical spin in an external magnetic field and local exchange coupled to an extended one-dimensional system of non-interacting conduction electrons is studied numerically.

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of the Effect of Prior Inelastic Strain on the Viscoplastic Behavior of AD730 at 700 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Intrinsically energy-dependent spin dynamics in ultrafast demagnetization

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Ultrafast magnetization dynamics has the potential to spark a new era of information technology by harnessing the interaction between spin and light. Recent studies indicate a complex interplay between the microscopic spin and band structure dynamics and
