Phase transitions in spin glass type systems and, more recently, in related computational problems have gained broad interest in disparate arenas. In the current work, we focus on the "community detection" problem when cast in terms of a general Potts ...

Cloning, expression, purification, and structural modeling of the Chandipura virus matrix protein
This research protocol offers a guide for the cloning, expression, and purification of the Chandipura virus matrix protein using E. coli. It also includes a step‐by‐step procedure for cloning, expressing, and conducting fluorescence imaging of GFP‐fused Chandipura virus matrix protein in mammalian cell lines.

To establish a unified framework for studying both discrete and continuous coupling distributions, we introduce the binomial spin glass, a class of models where the couplings are sums of m identically distributed Bernoulli random variables. In the continuum limit m→∞, the class reduces to one with Gaussian couplings, while m=1 corresponds to the ±J ...

On spin glass fluctuations [PDF]
We compute the bare correlation function < Qαβ p Qαβ-p> for the short range spin glass, around Parisi mean field solution, in field near Tc. We evaluate both the correlation function associated with a given overlap x (of replicas α, β) and the x-average i.e. the Fourier transform of the spin correlation < σi σj >2, (p conjugate to |i - j|).

The Blume-Emery-Griffiths Spin Glass and Inverted Tricritical Points
The Blume-Emery-Griffiths spin glass is studied by renormalization-group theory in d=3. The boundary between the ferromagnetic and paramagnetic phases has first-order and two types of second-order segments.

Homologous expression and purification of human HAX‐1 for structural studies
This research protocol provides detailed instructions for cloning, expressing, and purifying large quantities of the intrinsically disordered human HAX‐1 protein, N‐terminally fused to a cleavable superfolder GFP, from mammalian cells. HAX‐1 is predicted to undergo posttranslational modifications and to interact with membranes, various cellular ...

Motivated by puzzling characteristics of spin-glass transitions widely observed in pyrochlore-based frustrated materials, we investigate effects of coupling to local lattice distortions in a bond-disordered antiferromagnet on the pyrochlore lattice by ...

This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

Electronic 1/f noise as a probe of dimensional effects on spin-glass dynamics
Over the past decade, spin-glass simulations have improved to the point that they now access time- and length-scales comparable to experiments at the mesoscale.
