Spin observables of the reaction pd-3He eta and quasi-bound 3He-eta pole

open access: yes, 2007
A formalism for spin observables of the reaction $pd\to ~^3He\eta$ is derived in a model independent way. The general case with a full set of six independent spin amplitudes is studied.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Joint observables induced by indirect measurements in cavity QED

open access: yesFrontiers in Quantum Science and Technology
A fundamental feature of quantum mechanics is that there are observable pairs that cannot be measured jointly, such as observables corresponding to position and momentum or spin direction measurements.

Tensor correlations probed by electroweak responses

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
In this contribution, we present our recent study on the electroweak response functions with realistic nuclear forces and discuss their relation to tensor correlations.

New Relations and Constraints on Quark Spin-flavor Contents in Symmetry-breaking Chiral Quark Model

open access: yes, 1997
New relations between the quark spin-flavor contents of the nucleon and axial weak coupling constants are obtained in the chiral quark model with both SU(3) and U(1)-breaking effects. Using the nonsinglet spin combinations, $\Delta_3$ and $\Delta_8$, all

Advancing Age Modulates Associations Between Cognitive Impairment and Brain Volumes in Early MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment is common in multiple sclerosis (MS), but manifestations following the first demyelinating event are relatively unexplored. We investigated cross‐sectional associations between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–derived brain volumes and the presence of cognitive impairment outcomes five years after the first ...

Revisiting the combinatorics of the 2D Ising model

open access: yes, 2017
We provide a concise exposition with original proofs of combinatorial formulas for the 2D Ising model partition function, multi-point fermionic observables, spin and energy density correlations, for general graphs and interaction constants, using the ...

Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.

Association Between Motor Pathway Damage and Motor Deficit in Upper and Lower Limb in People With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Corticospinal tract damage is common in people with MS, but the degree of clinical symptoms varies. We hypothesize that corticospinal tract lesions are more extensive and severe in people with MS with motor impairments in both upper and lower limbs.

Bounds on photon scattering

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study 2-to-2 scattering amplitudes of massless spin one particles in d = 4 space-time dimensions, like real world photons. We define a set of non-perturbative observables (Wilson coefficients) which describe these amplitudes at low energies.
