Self-polarized spin-nanolasers
Nature Nanotechnology, 2014Besides adding a new functionality to conventional lasers, spin-polarized lasers can, potentially, offer lower threshold currents and reach higher emission intensities. However, to achieve spin-polarized lasing emission a material should possess a slow spin relaxation and a high propensity to be injected with spin-polarized currents.

Annual Review of Materials Science, 1995
Spin-polarized photoemission has developed into a versatile tool for the study of surface and thin film magnetism. In this review, we examine the methodology of the technique and its application to a number of different problems, including both valence band and core level studies.

Physical Review A, 1986
Maser action on the hydrogen hyperfine transition has been achieved at a temperature of 0.3 K in a liquid-helium-lined resonator. Polarized atoms are provided by magnetic ejection from a low-temperature discharge in a high magnetic field. The maser demonstrates the feasibility of a proposed low-temperature frequency standard.

Electron-spin resonance, nuclear polarization, and spin relaxation of spin-polarized atomic hydrogen
Physical Review B, 1985Electron-spin-resonance measurements of spin-polarized hydrogen are presented. Excellent signal-to-noise ratio, previously obtainable only in pressure studies, allows quantitative fits to the separate a and b (proton up and down) decays of the nuclear-spin-polarized samples, yielding separate temperature dependences of the recombination rate constants $

Spin-polarized tunneling by spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy
Journal of Applied Physics, 1998A spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscope (STM) using a GaAs tip has been studied to observe the magnetization with nanoscale resolution for a sample magnetized in the plane of the film. A STM image of Si(111) 7×7 surface reconstruction using the GaAs tip was observed clearly under ultra-high-vacuum conditions.

Spin polarization and spin alignment in hypernuclei
Physical Review C, 1987Spin polarization and spin alignment of angular momenta in hypernuclei are discussed in terms of a distorted wave Born approximation. Hypernuclei produced by (${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$,${\mathrm{K}}^{+}$) and (${\mathrm{K}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$,${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$) reactions are shown to have sizable amounts of ...

AbstractSpin‐polarized scanning tunneling microscopy has produced a great amount of images presenting magnetic contrast between different magnetic domains with an unsurpassed spatial resolution but getting values like the surface polarization has proven to be a difficult task.

Several ground state properties of (electron) spin-polarized deuterium (D↓) such as the energy, single quasiparticle energies and lifetimes, Landau parameters and sound velocities are evaluated. The calculations begin with the Kolos-Wolneiwicz potential and use the Galitskii-Feynman-Hartree-Fock (GFHF) approximation. The deuteron nucleas has spin I = 1,
