Spin decoherence and off-resonance behavior of radio-frequency-driven spin rotations in storage rings

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams
High-frequency driven resonant spin rotators are routinely used as standard instruments in polarization experiments in particle and nuclear physics. Maintaining the continuous exact parametric spin resonance condition of the equality of the spin rotator ...

Spin and polarization effects on the nonlinear Breit–Wheeler pair production in laser-plasma interaction

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
The spin effect of electrons/positrons ( e ^− / e ^+ ) and polarization effect of γ photons are investigated in the interaction of two counter-propagating linearly polarized laser pulses of peak intensity 8.9 × 10 ^23 W cm ^−2 with a thin foil target ...

On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Chirality dependent spin polarization of carbon nanotubes

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
The spin polarization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) offers a tunable building block for spintronic devices and is also crucial for realizing carbon-based electronics. However, the effect of chiral CNTs is still unclear.

Magnetization-dependent spin Hall effect in a perpendicular magnetized film

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
In the spin Hall effect (SHE), the vector cross-product relations among charge current, spin current, and spin polarization are strictly followed, so that only the in-plane spin accumulation can be induced at the film surface.

Controllable spin current in van der Waals ferromagnet Fe_{3}GeTe_{2}

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
The control of spin current is pivotal for spintronic applications, especially for spin-orbit torque devices. The spin Hall effect is a prevalent method to generate spin current. However, it is difficult to manipulate its spin polarization in a nonmagnet.

Dynamics of a localized spin excitation close to the spin-helix regime

open access: yes, 2013
The time evolution of a local spin excitation in a (001)-confined two-dimensional electron gas subjected to Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit interactions of similar strength is investigated theoretically and compared with experimental data. Specifically,

Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.

The role of space charge in spin-resolved photoemission experiments

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
Spin-resolved photoemission is one of the most direct ways of measuring the magnetization of a ferromagnet. If all valence band electrons contribute, the measured average spin polarization is proportional to the magnetization.

Current-induced spin polarization in isotropic k-cubed Rashba model: Theoretical study for p-doped semiconductor heterostructures and perovskite oxides interfaces

open access: yes, 2017
Using the Matsubara Green's function formalism we calculate the temperature dependence of the nonequilibrium spin polarization induced by an external electric field in the presence of spin-orbit coupling.
