Abstract Spin exchange can be seen in kidney plasma membrane fragments with spin labeled probes at concentrations of the labels in the membrane which do not inhibit the (Na + + K + )-ATPase. The second order rate constants for exchange are on the order of 10 7 M −1 sec −1 .
