Development and Application of Spin Traps, Spin Probes, and Spin Labels
2015This chapter focuses on major achievements of the last decade in the synthesis and applications of spin traps, spin probes, and spin labels. Our discussion on spin trapping is mainly concerned with novel aspects of nitrones used as spin traps and with the kinetics caused by bioreductants. The second part of the chapter deals with recent developments in

Spin exchange of spin labeled probes in a natural membrane
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1972Abstract Spin exchange can be seen in kidney plasma membrane fragments with spin labeled probes at concentrations of the labels in the membrane which do not inhibit the (Na + + K + )-ATPase. The second order rate constants for exchange are on the order of 10 7 M −1 sec −1 .

In this golden age of biotechnology, proteins and their abbreviated siblings, peptides, are under remarkable scrutiny. And as with proteins, the folding and structure of peptides are of immense interest to biochemists. They want to know precisely what drives a peptide to adopt a certain structure and how peptides interact with other peptides, proteins,

Probing spin currents in semiconductors
Journal of Applied Physics, 2001A novel device for spin-current detection in semiconductors, based on the extraordinary Hall effect, is proposed. When a spin current is injected into a nonmagnetic semiconductor, it is found that a transverse electric field, or Hall voltage, is generated. The Hall voltage is proportional to the spin current in the nonmagnetic semiconductor.
