Embodied Intelligence for Soil Health toward Sustainable Smart Agriculture: Sensing the Soil with Flexible Geotextiles Sensors

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 10, Issue 6, June 2026.
This review examines the transition from rigid to flexible soil sensing technologies in the context of soil as a dynamic and heterogeneous environment. By integrating sensor types, sensing modalities, materials, fabrication and deployment strategies, and IoT‐enabled energy and communication approaches, it highlights geotextiles as scalable sensing ...

On‐Surface Synthesis of B3N3‐Substituted Two‐Dimensional Covalent Organic Frameworks with Distinct Pore Sizes and Kagome Band Structures

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 32, 8 June 2026.
Single‐layer, 2D BN‐substituted covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with two distinct periodicities are synthesized on noble metal supports. A multi‐method characterization reveals a non‐planar, chiral structure. Band gaps and frontier band dispersion are controlled by linker chemistry and spacer extension.

Nernst‐Effect‐Modulated Bilinear Magnetoelectric Resistance in Chiral Tellurium Nanosheets

open access: yesSmartMat, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
This study systematically explores the bilinear magnetoelectric resistance (BMR) in electron‐doped Te nanosheets. Controlled experiments reveal that the observed out‐of‐plane BMR arises mainly from Joule‐heating‐induced Nernst effect. These findings highlight the crucial role of thermoelectric contributions in nonlinear carrier transport and offer ...

La2O3‐Doped ZrO2 Tapes for Enhanced Thermomagnetic Conversion in CoFeB Heterostructures

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This work investigates the thermomagnetic response of La2O3‐doped ZrO2/CoFeB heterostructures for energy harvesting applications. La2O3‐doped ZrO2 ceramic tapes were fabricated via tape casting, followed by the deposition of CoFeB ferromagnetic thin films using magnetron sputtering.

Abnormal spin Seebeck effect near compensation temperature in Tb3Fe5O12 garnet films

open access: yesnpj Spintronics
We report the abnormal spin Seebeck effect (SSE) observed in Tb3Fe5O12(TbIG)/Pt heterostructures near the compensation temperature (T comp) of TbIG. As the temperature approaches T comp from room temperature, a rapid decline is shown in the spin Seebeck ...

Thickness dependence on dynamical spin injection driven by thermal effects in CoFeB/Pt bilayer

open access: yesScientific Reports
In ferromagnetic metal (FM)/non-magnetic metal (NM) bilayer structures, dynamical spin injection is primarily attributed to spin pumping at the interface.

Spin Seebeck effect of solution processed ferrimagnet insulator thin film, Yttrium Iron Garnet

open access: yes, 2018
Spin Seebeck effect, in combination with the Inverse Spin Hall Effect, can be applied directly for the conversion from heat to electric energy. Spin Seebeck thermoelectric generator allows new approaches toward the improvement of thermoelectric ...
