Spin transfer torques in the nonlocal lateral spin valve [PDF]

open access: yesNanotechnology, 2008
We report a theoretical study on the spin and electron transport in the nonlocal lateral spin valve with non-collinear magnetic configuration. The nonlocal magnetoresistance, defined as the voltage difference on the detection lead over the injected current, is derived analytically. The spin transfer torques on the detection lead are calculated.

Spin–transfer torque oscillator in magnetic tunneling junction with short–wavelength magnon excitation

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Bloch–Bloembergen–Slonczewski (BBS) equation is established by extending Bloch–Bloembergen equation, and it is used to study magnetization oscillation in the free magnetic layer of a magnetic tunneling junction.

Rogue waves in the continuous Heisenberg spin chain with time-dependent bilinear interaction and spin-transfer torque

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, 2022
We consider the continuous Heisenberg spin chain equation S→t=α(t)S→×S→xx+β(t)S→x,S→⋅S→=1,where α(t)and β(t)are the parameters to describe the bilinear interaction, and the spin-transfer torque resulted from the spin-polarized current, respectively.

Spin transfer torque devices utilizing the giant spin Hall effect of tungsten [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report a giant spin Hall effect in β-W thin films. Using spin torque induced ferromagnetic resonance with a β-W/CoFeB bilayer microstrip, we determine the spin Hall angle to be |θSHβ-W|=0.30±0.02, large enough for an in-plane current to efficiently ...

Domain wall depinning from FM/AFM interface defects by spin-polarized current

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
We report a theoretical investigation of the impact of spin-transfer torque on magnetic head-to-head domain walls of Fe and Ni80Fe20 (Permalloy PyTM) nanowires exchange coupled to a two-sublattice uniaxial antiferromagnetic substrate.

Spin-transfer torque driven motion, deformation, and instabilities of magnetic skyrmions at high currents

open access: yesPhysical review B, 2020
In chiral magnets, localized topological magnetic whirls, magnetic skyrmions, can be moved by spin polarized electric currents. Upon increasing the current strength, with prospects for high-speed skyrmion motion for spintronics applications in mind ...

Oscillation characteristics of zero-field spin transfer oscillators with field-like torque

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
We theoretically investigate the influence of the field-like spin torque term on the oscillation characteristics of spin transfer oscillators, which are based on MgO magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) consisting of a perpendicular magnetized free layer and

A spin torque meter with magnetic facet domains

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Spin torques with different origins enable the magnetic domain wall motion, but the contributions are hard to be distinguished. Here, the authors show the method to measure both spin-magnetization transfer torque and spin–orbit torque by using mountain ...

Spin-torque quantization and microwave sensitivity of a nano-sized spin diode

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Rectification of microwave signal by the spin-torque diode is very promising for its practical applications in microwave imaging. This is due to a very high sensitivity of magnetic tunnel junction under the bias current, which was previously demonstrated
