Giant nonlinear self-phase modulation of large-amplitude spin waves in microscopic YIG waveguides

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Nonlinear self-phase modulation is a universal phenomenon responsible, for example, for the formation of propagating dynamic solitons. It has been reported for waves of different physical nature. However its direct experimental observation for spin waves

Spin-orbit coupling and spin waves in ultrathin ferromagnets: The spin-wave Rashba effect [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2010
We present theoretical studies of the influence of spin orbit coupling on the spin wave excitations of the Fe monolayer and bilayer on the W(110) surface. The Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction is active in such films, by virtue of the absence of reflection symmetry in the plane of the film.

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Micro-focused Brillouin light scattering: imaging spin waves at the nanoscale

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2015
Spin waves constitute an important part of research in the field of magnetization dynamics. Spin waves are the elementary excitations of the spin system in a magnetically ordered material state and magnons are their quasi particles.

Propagation properties of spin wave in Co2FeAl Heusler alloy ultrathin films

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
We report an investigation of spin wave propagation in ion beam sputtered Co _2 FeAl Heusler alloy thin film on Si(100) substrate. The spin wave transmission spectra measured at fixed frequencies by sweeping the external applied magnetic field were used ...

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

The effects of thermal and correlated noise on magnons in a quantum ferromagnet

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
The dynamics and thermal equilibrium of spin waves (magnons) in a quantum ferromagnet as well as the macroscopic magnetisation are investigated. Thermal noise due to an interaction with lattice phonons and the effects of spatial correlations in the noise

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Role of spin–orbit coupling in spin-to-lattice energy conversion in ferrite nanoparticles

open access: yesScientific Reports
We report on the influence of spin–orbit coupling (SOC) in governing spin-to-lattice energy conversion in ferrite nanoparticles (MnFe2O4, Fe3O4, and NiFe2O4).
