Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

Cryo‐EM Structure Guided Engineering of Botulinum Neurotoxin A With Advanced Receptor Binding Affinity and Therapeutical Benefits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The butterfly unfolded wing in an open form structure of botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT/A) at physiological‐state was confirmed at 2.85 Å resolution by cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Structure‐guided protein engineering significantly enhanced the receptor‐binding affinity, therapeutic efficacy, and safety of the engineered toxin variants ...

Studying the Effect of Wearing Compression Socks on Hypotension and the Amount of Administrated Ephedrine after Spinal Anesthesia in the Candidates for Cesarean Section

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Basic Research, 2018
Background and objectives: Due to the negative effects and risks of general anesthesia for the mother and fetus, spinal anesthesia has been the preferred method of anesthesia for cesarean section.

The free energy of biomembrane and nerve excitation and the role of anesthetics

open access: yes, 2018
In the electromechanical theory of nerve stimulation, the nerve impulse consists of a traveling region of solid membrane in a liquid environment. Therefore, the free energy necessary to stimulate a pulse is directly related to the free energy difference ...

Self‐Assembling Hybrid Hydrogel Reprograms the Stromal Vascular Fraction to Treat Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioinspired injectable hydrogel that enhances the therapeutic potential of stem cell‐rich stromal vascular fraction for treating osteoarthritis. By reprogramming cell behavior through epigenetic modulation, the hydrogel promotes cartilage regeneration and reduces joint damage in a rat model, offering a promising new approach for ...

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Itch‐induced tick removal (IITR): An acquired neuroimmune mechanism, itch‐induced tick removal, develops after repeated tick exposure, mobilizing T cells and macrophages at the tick bite site to trigger a rapid scratching response that facilitates timely tick removal within a critical window that precedes the transmission of many tick‐borne pathogens ...

Obesity is independently associated with spinal anesthesia outcomes: a prospective observational study.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The influence of body-mass index (BMI) on spinal anesthesia is still controversial, with discrepant results reported in previous studies. To compare spinal anesthesia in obese and non-obese subjects, the anesthesia profiles in patients who underwent ...

Gambaran Efektifitas Petidin 25 Mg Intravena Untuk Mengurangi Reaksi Menggigil Pada Pasien Seksio Sesarea Pasca Anestesi Spinal Di RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Shivering is a common complication in patient who received general dan regional anesthesia. In caesarean section, anesthesia technique that usually used is spinal anesthesia. The Incidence of post spinal anesthesia shivering in caesarean section was 85%.
