Early exposure to environmental toxin contributes to neuronal vulnerability and axonal pathology in a model of familial ALS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Adult onset amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) arises due to progressive and irreversible functional deficits to the central nervous system, specifically the loss of motor neurons.

Tissue‐Resident Macrophage‐Derived E3 Ligase SMURF2 Restricts Autoimmune Inflammation by Mediating the Degradation of p‐TBK1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysregulated Tissue resident macrophage (TRMs) link to autoimmune inflammation. SMURF2 mediates Lys‐27 (K27)‐linked ubiquitination of p‐TBK1 and its degradation, which inhibits CSF1R signaling‐triggered TRM proliferation, thereby restraining the autoimmune inflammation.

Reliable AI Platform for Monitoring BCI Caused Brain Injury and Providing Real‐Time Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BrainGuard enables real‐time and interpretable assessment of brain injury caused by brain computer interface (BCI). Using feature‐based Gaussian process (GP) emulators trained on limited biomechanical data, it efficiently predicts full‐field strain and constructs patient‐specific digital brain twins to support clinical diagnosis and long‐term BCI ...

Ruxolitinib improves the inflammatory microenvironment, restores glutamate homeostasis, and promotes functional recovery after spinal cord injury

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
The inflammatory microenvironment and neurotoxicity can hinder neuronal regeneration and functional recovery after spinal cord injury. Ruxolitinib, a JAK-STAT inhibitor, exhibits effectiveness in autoimmune diseases, arthritis, and managing inflammatory ...

Clinical applications of diffusion tensor tractography of the spinal cord [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) can visualize the white matter tracts in vivo. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical utility of DTI in patients with diseases of the spinal cord.

NDST3‐Induced Epigenetic Reprogramming Reverses Neurodegeneration in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NDST3‐mediated epigenetic reprogramming revitalizes neuronal circuits in the substantia nigra and striatum to halt dopaminergic neuron degeneration and restore motor function in Parkinson's disease models. This strategy promotes neuronal maintenance and functional recovery, highlighting NDST3's therapeutic potential in neurodegenerative disorders ...
