Neck‐vein thrombosis during spaceflight

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Spaceflight imposes unique environmental challenges, including weightlessness, increased radiation exposure and confinement, which can lead to unexpected health effects. One such example is neck‐vein thrombosis, a condition rarely seen on Earth without predisposing factors such as venous catheters or infections.

TDP‐43 Phosphorylation: Pathological Modification or Protective Factor Antagonizing TDP‐43 Aggregation in Neurodegenerative Diseases?

open access: yesBioEssays, EarlyView.
TDP‐43 hyperphosphorylation occurs in neurodegenerative diseases, however, it is not a driver of TDP‐43 aggregation, but enhances TDP‐43 solubility, suggesting that TDP‐43 hyperphosphorylation is protective. Toxicity may arise from a broader phosphorylation‐driven cellular pathway disruption.

The effect of sodium nitroprusside in scaffolds for synergetic gas‐photothermal therapy of osteosarcoma

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
The PCLA‐SNP scaffolds can produce photothermal agents in situ under ultraviolet radiation. Then, the scaffold can release nitric oxide gas spontaneously and generate hyperthermia under near‐infrared laser to enhance ablation of bone tumors. Furthermore, the calcium and iron ions released from PCLA‐SNP scaffolds can accelerate bone regeneration ...
