Highly Stretchable, Self‐Healable, and Conductive Gelatin Methacryloyl Hydrogel for Long‐Lasting Wearable Tactile Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gelatin methacryloyl hydrogel, which possesses high stretchability, tensile strength, toughness, and autonomous self‐healing capability at room temperature, is developed through the introduction of interpenetrating networks, hierarchical hydrogen bonds (weak and strong H‐bonds), and borate ester bonds.

The diagnostic value of chest and abdominopelvic computed tomography in detecting thoracolumbar fractures among patients with blunt trauma

open access: yesArchives of Trauma Research, 2020
Background: Thoracolumbar fracture (TLF) is one of the common problems associated with trauma. This study evaluated the diagnostic value of chest and abdominopelvic computed tomography (CT) in detecting TLFs among patients with blunt trauma.

Comparative evaluation of femoral nerve block and intravenous fentanyl for positioning during spinal anaesthesia in surgery of femur fracture

open access: yesIndian Journal of Anaesthesia, 2014
Background: Spinal anaesthesia is the preferred technique to fix fracture of the femur. Extreme pain does not allow ideal positioning for this procedure.

Bio‐Inspired Strategy for Radiation‐Based Thermal Management and Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biological organisms have evolved remarkable strategies to manage and exploit thermal radiation. This review explores bio‐inspired systems that mimic these adaptations—such as radiative cooling, thermal regulation, thermal insulation, water harvesting, infrared camouflage, and infrared detection—and highlights their application in thermal management ...

Comparative Outcomes of Percutaneous and Conventional Open Pedicle Screw Fixation for Single-level Thoracolumbar Spine Injury: Randomised Controlled Trial [PDF]

open access: yesMalaysian Orthopaedic Journal
Introduction: To compare post-operative outcomes of percutaneous pedicle screw fixation (PPSF) vs open pedicle screw fixation (OPSF) in patients with thoracolumbar spine fractures with no neurological deficits.

Oscillating Magnetic Field Induced Bone Injury Repair by using Drug‐Free Micromotors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a payload‐free, minimally invasive approach for bone repair using magnetic hydrogel micromotors, which enhance bone regeneration via localized micromovement stimulation, achieving a twofold increase in new bone formation in vivo. Abstract Bone injury repair remains a significant clinical challenge due to the tissue's limited self ...

Modelling thoracolumbar fractures in goat vertebrae based on axial compression force [PDF]

open access: yesScripta Medica
Background/Aim: A profound understanding of the biomechanics underlying thoracolumbar animal models has become important in spine research. Aim of this study was to analyse difference in thoracolumbar fractures based on height loss caused by axial ...

Sex, age, role and geographic differences in traumatic spinal fractures caused by motor vehicle collisions: a multicentre retrospective study

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
To investigate the sex, age, role and geographic differences in traumatic spinal fractures (TSFs) caused by motor vehicle collisions (MVCs) in adults (≥ 18 years old). This was a multicentre retrospective observational study.

Recovery of Over‐Ground Walking after Chronic Motor Complete Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2018
Persons with motor complete spinal cord injury, signifying no voluntary movement or sphincter function below the level of injury but including retention of some sensation, do not recover independent walking. We tested intense locomotor treadmill training

A Myelin Debris Cleaner for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery: Polycaprolactone / Cell Membrane Assembled Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
pMM‐PCL, made up of pretreated macrophage menbrane and polycaprolactone, boasts the adsorption of harmful myelin debris in the microenvironment of spinal cord injury. Abstract After spinal cord injury (SCI), a mass of myelin debris derived from injured myelin sheath will be consistently generated and induce macrophages to be foam cells.
