EPIDURAL SPINAL INFECTIONS

SUMMARY The relationship of acute, metastatic epidural abscess and chronic granulomata of the epidural space is discussed. Five cases of abscess and two of granuloma are recorded. Their symptomatology and diagnosis are discussed. The need of prompt recognition and adequate surgical treatment, especially in the abscess cases, is emphasized.
