Rotation Accuracy Analysis of Aerostatic Spindle Considering Shaft’s Roundness and Cylindricity [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The rotation accuracy of the aerostatic spindle can easily be affected by shaft shape errors due to the small gas film clearance. Thus, the main shaft shape errors with the largest scale—that is, the roundness and cylindricity errors—are studied in this ...

Development of the spindle shaft for machining center using high thermal conductivity material

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2023
Due to the high precision and high speed of spindles for machining centers, thermal issues cannot be avoided. The temperature rises of the spindle shaft, which is the rotating component, causes issues such as increased thermal displacement in the tool ...

Estimating temperature distribution and heat quantity of spindle shaft for machining centers

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing
The thermal issue of spindles for machining centers is still fundamentally unresolved. Thermal problems due to increased temperature of the spindle shaft lead to thermal displacement of the tool axis and an increase in friction torque, consequently ...

Dynamic analysis of grinding electric spindle bearing-rotor system under eccentric action

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2023
To study the influence of eccentricity on the dynamic characteristics of grinding electric spindle, firstly, the nonlinear oil film force (NOFF) expression of sliding bearing is established based on the boundary condition of adhesion pressure.

Static analysis of multi-support spindle shafts with nonlinear elastic bearings

open access: yesBulletin of the National Technical University «KhPI» Series: Dynamics and Strength of Machines, 2021
In this paper a mathematical model and computational tool are developed for the static analysis of multi-bearing spindle shafts with nonlinear elastic supports. Based on the Timoshenko beam theory a resolving system of equations is obtained that takes into account the nonlinear dependence of the bearing stiffness on the reaction forces acting upon them.
