Review of Thin Lithium Metal Battery Anode Fabrication – Microstructure – Electrochemistry Relations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thin, lightweight lithium‐metal anodes are pivotal for practical high‐energy batteries. This review surveys processing routes that convert diverse Li precursors, e.g., ingots, melts, solutions, and vapor, into Li‐rich foils with controlled thickness, areal density, and tailored functionality.

Desenvolvimento e caracterização de recobrimentos de Ni-Co e de seus óxidos mistos para a produção de oxigênio por eletrólise alcalina da água Development and characterisation of coatings of Ni-Co and their mixed oxides for oxygen production by alkaline water electrolysis

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 1997
This paper describes the development and characterisation of Ni-Co coatings to be used as anodes in water electrolysis. Chemical oxidation of the surface was performed through thermal treatment at 400ºC for 10 h. The resulting surfaces were analysed by X-

Elastic and structural instability of cubic Sn3N4 and C3N4 under pressure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We use in-situ high pressure angle dispersive x-ray diffraction measurements to determine the equation of state of cubic tin nitride Sn3N4 under pressure up to about 26 GPa.

From Thin Films to Nanodots: Bottom‐Up Integration of Fe3O4 on Nb:STO for Functional Oxide Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Scalable bottom‐up fabrication of Fe3O4 nanodots on Nb:SrTiO3 using anodic alumina templates enables long‐range ordered arrays with diameters down to 30 nm. STEM highlights the epitaxial growth of Fe3O4 films on Nb:SrTiO3. Complementary polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR) and X‐ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) measurements on continuous films ...

LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Impact of Anode to Cathode Crossover in Lithium‐metal Batteries With High‐Nickel Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anode‐to‐cathode chemical crossover is identified as a critical degradation mechanism in lithium‐metal batteries. Full‐cell experiments with high‐Ni layered oxide cathodes and localized high‐concentration electrolytes reveal accelerated cathode impedance growth and CEI thickening driven by lithium‐metal anodes. The findings underscore the importance of
