Spin Squeezing Inequalities for Arbitrary Spin [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2011
We determine the complete set of generalized spin squeezing inequalities, given in terms of the collective angular momentum components, for particles with an arbitrary spin. They can be used for the experimental detection of entanglement in an ensemble in which the particles cannot be individually addressed.

Spin-Spin Correlators in the Majorana Representation [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2003
In the Majorana representation of a spin 1/2 we find an identity which relates spin-spin correlators to one-particle fermionic correlators. This should be contrasted with the straightforward approach in which two-particle (four-fermion) correlators need to be calculated.

Spin-spin interaction in matrix theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 1998
We calculate the spin dependent static force between two D0-branes in Matrix theory. Supersymmetry relates velocity dependent potentials to spin dependent potentials. The well known v^4/r^7 term is related to a theta^8/r^11 term, where theta is the relative spin of the D0-branes.

Spin Accumulation with Spin-Orbit Interaction [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2009
Spin accumulation is a crucial but imprecise concept in spintronics. In metal-based spintronics it is characterized in terms of semiclassical distribution functions. In semiconductors with a strong spin-orbit coupling the spin accumulation is interpreted as a superposition of coherent eigenstates. Both views can be reconciled by taking into account the
