Gregory-Laflamme encounters Superradiance

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We investigate the effect of superradiant scattering of gravitational perturbations on the stability of rotating black strings, focusing on the six dimensional equal-spinning Myers-Perry black string.

Superradiance and black resonator strings encounter helical black strings

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We construct a cohomogeneity-1 helical black string in six-dimensional Einstein gravity. The helical solution branches from the onset of the gravitational superradiant instability of the equal-spinning Myers-Perry black string.

Effect of Angular Velocity on Sensors Based on Morphology Dependent Resonances

open access: yesSensors, 2014
We carried out an analysis to investigate the morphology dependent optical resonances shift (MDR) of a rotating spherical resonator. The spinning resonator experiences an elastic deformation due to the centrifugal force acting on it, leading to a shift ...

Spin resonance without spin splitting [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2015
We predict that a single-level quantum dot without discernible splitting of its spin states develops a spin-precession resonance in charge transport when embedded into a spin valve. The resonance occurs in the generic situation of Coulomb blockaded transport with ferromagnetic leads whose polarizations deviate from perfect antiparallel alignment.

Resonant-tunneling–based spin ratchets [PDF]

open access: yesEPL (Europhysics Letters), 2009
We outline a generic ratchet mechanism for creating directed spin-polarized currents in ac-driven double well or double dot structures by employing resonant spin transfer through the system engineered by local external magnetic fields. We show its applicability to semiconductor nanostructures by considering coherent transport through two coupled ...

Magnetically Tuned Spin Dynamics Resonance [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
We present the experimental observation of a magnetically tuned resonance phenomenon resulting from spin mixing dynamics of ultracold atomic gases. In particular we study the magnetic field dependence of spin conversion in F=2 87Rb spinor condensates in the crossover from interaction dominated to quadratic Zeeman dominated dynamics.

Optimal Design of a Polyaniline-Coated Surface Acoustic Wave Based Humidity Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2013
This paper presents an optimal design for a new humidity sensor composed of a dual-resonator oscillator configuration with an operation frequency of 300 MHz, and a polyaniline (PANI) coating deposited along the resonation cavity of the sensing device. To

Polymer Microring Coupled-Resonator Optical Waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present measurements of the transmission and dispersion properties of coupled-resonator optical waveguides (CROWs) consisting of weakly coupled polymer microring resonators.

Spin Coupling and Resonance

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2008
The resonating block localize wave function (RBLW) method is introduced, a resonating modification of the block localized wave functions introduced by Mo et al. [Mo, Y.; Peyerimhoff, S. D. J. Chem. Phys. 1998, 109, 1687].This approach allows the evaluation of resonance energies following Pauling's recipe.
