Phase-field study of the spinodal decomposition rate of β phase in oxygen-added Ti–Nb alloys

Computational Materials Science, 2020
In this study, the β-phase spinodal decomposition in oxygen-added Ti–Nb alloys is simulated at 700–1073 K using the phase-field method. The results show that the addition of low amounts of oxygen remarkably enhances the β-phase spinodal decomposition at ...

Spinodal decomposition in gels

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1999
We construct a Ginzburg-Landau model for gels undergoing spinodal decomposition in terms of the polymer volume fraction and a deformation tensor. We numerically demonstrate that the domain growth is extremely slowed down in late stages, where the surface tension force, which drives the coarsening in usual fluids, is cancelled by the elastic force.

Effects of P addition on spinodal decomposition and discontinuous precipitation in Cu-15Ni-8Sn alloy

Materials Characterization, 2021
The microstructure and subsequent phase transformations of Cu-15Ni-8Sn can get affected by a minor addition of phosphorus (P). For the first time, the hexagonal Ni10SnP3 phase was observed in the Cu-15Ni-8Sn-0.2P alloy using high-angle annular dark-field
